Equity is the percentage of the pot you'd win on average if the hand were run to showdown thousands of times. A player with 65% equity in a $200 pot has a hand worth $130 in expected value.

Equity is not the same as pot odds. Pot odds tell you the price the pot is giving you to call a bet. Pot odds are profitable when your equity exceeds the price — for example, calling a $50 bet into a $150 pot requires at least 25% equity.

The calculator also accounts for ties (split pots). When two players have identical hand strength, each receives half the pot for that runout. Ties are common with paired boards and shared straight or flush cards.

Rather than computing every possible combination of remaining cards (which can exceed 1 billion in multi-way pots), our calculator uses Monte Carlo simulation: it randomly deals the remaining community cards thousands of times, evaluates each player's best five-card hand, and counts wins, losses, and ties.

With 50,000 iterations, results converge to within ~0.5% of the true mathematical equity. The engine evaluates all 21 possible five-card combinations from each player's seven cards (2 hole + 5 board) using a fast rank-comparison algorithm — no card-sorting shortcuts, no lookup tables that sacrifice accuracy.

Everything runs in your browser. No data is sent to any server, and the calculation completes in under a second on modern devices.
