The Super High Roller Bowl returns in October, and the 2026 edition packs seven events with buy-ins from $10,300 to $103,000 into an eight-day window at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.
Super High Roller Bowl XI — the $103,000 No-Limit Hold'em flagship — plays on October 6. It is preceded by Super High Roller Bowl PLO IV, also at $103,000, on October 5, with a $10,300 PLO satellite opening the week on October 3. Two further $26,000 No-Limit Hold'em events close things out on October 9 and 10.
The structure tells you something about where high-roller poker has settled after a decade of experimentation.
PLO before Hold'em
The most interesting scheduling decision is putting the PLO championship first.
When the Super High Roller Bowl launched, it was a No-Limit Hold'em event and nothing else. The addition of a PLO version — now in its fourth edition — and its placement ahead of the Hold'em flagship reflects a genuine shift in what the top of the game actually plays.
Pot-Limit Omaha has become the dominant high-stakes cash game variant over the past decade, and the tournament calendar has followed. The reasons are well understood: PLO produces larger pots, higher variance and more playable hands, which keeps recreational money in the game longer than Hold'em does at equivalent stakes. It is also, for now, less thoroughly solved than Hold'em, which matters enormously at a level where everybody has done the work.

The $10,300 satellite as an entry point
Opening the week with a $10,300 PLO satellite on October 3 is a meaningful structural choice.
A $103,000 buy-in is beyond the reach of nearly everyone, including many accomplished professionals. A satellite at one-tenth the price creates a path — and, more importantly for the organisers, it broadens the field for the main event beyond the small group who can comfortably fire six figures.
The satellite maths at this level is worth understanding. In a winner-takes-seats satellite, the correct strategy is dramatically different from a standard tournament, because chips above the seat threshold have almost no value. Once you have enough to secure a seat, accumulating more accomplishes nothing. That inverts normal tournament incentives: survival becomes paramount, marginal spots become clear folds, and the chip leader's optimal strategy is close to sitting out.

Where SHRB sits now
The Super High Roller Bowl helped invent the modern high-roller tournament. When it launched, a $300,000 buy-in event was genuinely shocking, and the SHRB's early editions were poker's most-watched tournaments outside the WSOP Main Event.
The buy-in has since settled at $103,000, and the event now sits inside a broader PokerGO Tour calendar rather than standing alone as an annual spectacle. That is not a decline so much as a normalisation. High-roller poker went from novelty to fixture, and a fixture needs a sustainable price point and a regular slot rather than an escalating arms race.
The PGT ecosystem now runs a year-round calendar of high-roller series — the U.S. Poker Open, the PokerGO Cup, the Poker Masters and the SHRB — with a points-based Player of the Year race running across all of them. Brock Wilson has dominated the 2026 season, winning both the U.S. Poker Open and the PokerGO Cup series championships, each worth a trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport, and topping the PGT leaderboard with 1,219 points.
The PokerGO Studio venue is central to how this works. A purpose-built television studio with a small number of tables is the right format for a tournament with fields in the dozens rather than the thousands — and it makes the product watchable in a way that a casino ballroom never is. The October calendar collision
Late September into October is unusually busy at the top of the game.
The Poker Masters runs in Las Vegas in October. The WPT Prime Lodge Championship festival in Austin runs September 24 to October 12, with a $1 million guaranteed $1,100 championship from October 8 to 12. The WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star festival opens October 16. And the SHRB week sits October 3 to 10, overlapping with several of them.
For the small group of players who compete across all of these, the scheduling forces real choices. For everyone watching, it means an unusually dense run of high-stakes televised poker.

What this means for players
