Online Poker in Colorado — Legal Status & Best Sites (2026)

The Short Answer

Colorado does not have legal, regulated online poker. Colorado has a mature gambling industry: limited-stakes casinos in Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek (stakes raised to $100 max in 2020), tribal casinos, and legal mobile sports betting since May 2020. The state is considered a mid-term candidate for igaming.

Colorado players who want to play online poker access offshore operators. The PokerSites.org review team's top picks for Colorado players in May 2026 are BetOnline Poker and Bovada Poker.

Colorado Online Poker Legal Status

Current Law

Colorado gambling is governed by the Colorado Limited Gaming Act (CRS § 44-30) and the Colorado Constitution Article XVIII, Section 9. Casino gambling is limited to three mountain towns. Sports betting was authorized by Proposition DD (2019). No Colorado statute addresses online poker specifically. Individual player prosecution for offshore poker has not occurred.

Legislative Outlook

Colorado's sports betting market is one of the most competitive in the US with over 25 licensed operators. The existing regulatory infrastructure (Colorado Division of Gaming) could support igaming. However, casino gambling is constitutionally limited to three towns, and extending online gaming statewide may require voter approval. iPoker is plausible but requires a constitutional question to be resolved. Most analysts consider 2028–2030 realistic.
