The WSOP Online Ontario bracelet series is back, and it arrives with the biggest guarantee in its short history. GGPoker Ontario will run eight bracelet events from September 13 through October 6, capped by a C$1,000 Main Event carrying a C$1 million guarantee — exactly double what the same tournament promised last year.
For a ring-fenced market of roughly 15 million people, that is an aggressive number. It is also the clearest signal yet that Ontario's regulated online poker economy has matured past the experimental phase and into something an operator is willing to bet real money on.
Eight Bracelets, C$2.95 Million Guaranteed
This is the fifth WSOP Online bracelet series exclusively for Ontario residents since GGPoker entered the province in 2022. The eight-event structure is unchanged from previous editions, but the money behind it is not.
The bracelet events alone guarantee C$2,950,000, an average of nearly C$370,000 per tournament. Buy-ins run from C$300 to C$1,500, deliberately spanning the range from recreational to serious. Hundreds of side events will run alongside the bracelet schedule, and while GGPoker has not published a total series guarantee, the combined figure is widely expected to land somewhere between C$7 million and C$8 million.
Here is how the eight bracelet events break down:

- September 13-14 — Gladiators of Poker Ontario, C$300 bounty format, C$300,000 guaranteed, flighted
- September 20 — Monster Stack NLH, C$1,500, C$300,000 guaranteed, two-day event
- September 21 — Colossus, C$400, C$400,000 guaranteed, multiple Day 1 flights
- September 27 — Ultra Stack NLH, C$600, C$300,000 guaranteed
- September 27 — PLOSSUS, C$400, C$200,000 guaranteed, flighted
- October 4 — The Closer NLH Bounty Turbo, C$525, C$200,000 guaranteed
- October 4-5 — Main Event, C$1,000, C$1,000,000 guaranteed, phased structure
The C$400 Colossus at C$400,000 is the second-largest guarantee on the schedule, which tells you something about where GGPoker thinks the volume lives. A low buy-in, multiple starting flights, and a guarantee that requires roughly 1,100 entries to cover — that is a tournament designed to be the series' engine, not its trophy.
Why the Series Started Late
Ontario players have been watching international GGPoker grinders chase WSOP Online bracelets since mid-August, with more than a dozen already awarded on the global network. The Ontario silence was conspicuous enough that industry observers openly wondered whether the provincial series was being quietly retired.
The likely explanation is scheduling discipline rather than retreat. The WSOP Super Circuit at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec, is running through September 12 — 18 ring events with a record C$14 million guaranteed, the largest WSOP Circuit festival ever staged in Canada. Launching an online bracelet series into the teeth of the biggest live Canadian WSOP festival on record would have split a market that cannot really afford to be split.
The Ontario online series begins on September 13. Playground ends on September 12. That is not a coincidence; it is a calendar built by someone who understands that Canadian poker liquidity is a finite resource.
The Paradise Packages Are the Real Prize
The headline guarantee gets attention, but the package structure is arguably the more interesting piece of the offer.
Every one of the eight bracelet winners receives a WSOP Paradise package for the December festival at Baha Mar in the Bahamas. The Main Event champion collects a C$42,000 Super Main package — entry into the $26,000 Super Main Event with its $50 million guarantee, plus a 13-night stay at Baha Mar from December 5 to 18 and additional GGPoker benefits.
The other seven winners each receive a C$7,000 Paradise Circuit package: entry to the $2,750 Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty, four nights at Baha Mar from December 1 to 5, and assorted extras.
Run the arithmetic and the packages add roughly C$91,000 in additional value on top of the C$2.95 million in guaranteed prize money. More importantly, they change the effective equity calculation for anyone playing the C$1,000 Main Event. You are not simply playing for a share of C$1 million; first place carries a C$42,000 seat in a tournament with a $50 million guarantee attached to it. That is a meaningful chunk of extra expected value concentrated entirely at the top of the payout structure — which, incidentally, makes the Main Event's ICM dynamics at the final table more top-heavy than the published payout chart suggests.
Rules Worth Knowing Before You Register
Two operational details separate WSOP Online bracelet events from ordinary online tournaments, and both catch first-timers out.
First, every bracelet event requires players to submit their real names. This is standard across WSOP Online events globally and reflects the fact that a bracelet is an official WSOP record, not just a prize. If you are attached to your screen name, this is the point where anonymity ends.
Second, deal-making is not permitted at the final table. In a normal C$1,000 online tournament with a six-figure top prize, a three-way chop is a routine outcome. Here it is forbidden. The practical effect is that the final table plays out in full, with the entire payout ladder intact and the ICM pressure that comes with it.
That second rule matters more than it sounds. In a phased C$1 million Main Event with a C$42,000 package sitting on top of first place, the gap between second and first is enormous and cannot be negotiated away. Anyone planning to run deep should spend some time with final-table ICM work rather than assuming a deal will smooth out the variance. It will not.
What This Means for Ontario Players
Ontario remains a ring-fenced market. Players in the province cannot share tables with the international GGPoker pool, which is why the province gets its own bracelet series in the first place. That isolation has costs — smaller fields, thinner high-stakes games, fewer soft spots — but it also produces something Ontario players should appreciate: eight genuine WSOP bracelets contested against a field of a few thousand rather than tens of thousands.
The international Gladiators of Poker event this year drew 17,077 entries. The Ontario version will draw a fraction of that. The bracelet is identical. For a recreational player with C$300 to spend, the equity on a piece of WSOP history has rarely been better anywhere in the world.
The flighted structures on the Gladiators, Colossus, PLOSSUS and Main Event also make the series unusually accessible for players with jobs. Multiple Day 1s mean you can fire on a Sunday afternoon, miss, and fire again on a Monday evening without having written off the tournament. That structure is doing quiet work to widen the field, and it is worth understanding how phased events change optimal Day 1 strategy — survival is worth more than chip accumulation when a second bullet is available.
For players weighing where to put their September volume, the calendar is crowded. WCOOP runs on PokerStars from September 6 to 30. The international WSOP Online series runs through September 29. Partypoker's 25th Anniversary Series occupies most of the month. Ontario's eight bracelets are the only ones in that pile that carry a WSOP name and a field small enough to actually win.

The province's regulated market launched in April 2022 amid considerable skepticism about whether a walled-off Canadian pool could sustain serious tournament poker. Four and a half years later, GGPoker is guaranteeing C$1 million for a C$1,000 buy-in event and attaching a $50 million Bahamas seat to first place. Whatever the skeptics expected, this was not it.
