Earlier this month, the WSOP Circuit had tournaments running in six cities across five countries on the same day. A decade ago that sentence would have described the entire annual international footprint of the brand. In September 2026 it described a Thursday.
The gold ring has quietly become poker's most geographically distributed tournament product, and the 2026 calendar shows a brand that has moved from a US regional circuit to a year-round global tour.
What the 2026 map looks like
The expansion runs in several directions at once.
New national markets. Texas Card House hosted the first-ever WSOP Circuit series in Texas in April 2026, then returned for a second Austin series September 10โ21. Malta hosted its first-ever stop. Grand Casino Liechtenstein came onto the calendar. Casino Barcelona and the EuroPoker Circuit brought ring events to Spain.
The Super Circuit tier. The WSOP has layered a premium format on top of the standard Circuit, with substantially larger guarantees. The inaugural Super Circuit Montreal ran August 26 โ September 12 at Playground Poker Club, carrying C$14 million in guarantees across 18 ring events โ the largest guarantee ever offered for a poker series in Canada. It finished at C$24.5 million from 14,784 entries, more than 70% above guarantee.
A forward calendar that keeps going. The inaugural WSOP Super Circuit KINGS runs October 28 โ November 11 at King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czechia. Playground Montreal hosts a standard Circuit series November 2โ17 with C$5.5 million in guarantees. And the inaugural WSOP Super Circuit LATAM lands at Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, January 24 โ February 2, 2027.
The US domestic circuit continues throughout. Horseshoe Council Bluffs, Caesars Virginia and the rest of the traditional stops run on their established schedule.
Why the WSOP is doing this
Three commercial forces are driving it, and they reinforce each other.
The brand travels better than the venue. The WSOP's most valuable asset is recognition. A gold ring means something to a player in Rozvadov or Punta Cana who will never play in Las Vegas. Licensing that recognition to partner venues lets the WSOP monetise it without capital expenditure on properties.
Online satellites need live destinations. GGPoker's partnership with the WSOP works because online qualifiers have somewhere to go. The Montreal Main Event drew roughly 507 entries โ 18% of the field โ from GGPoker satellites, who collected C$2,876,857 of the prize pool. Each new live stop creates a new satellite pipeline, and each satellite pipeline drives online volume. The more stops, the more pipelines.
Ring winners feed the flagship. Each of the 18 Montreal ring winners received a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package, including entry into the $2,750 Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty and four nights at the Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar. The Circuit is now an explicit funnel into the WSOP's premium winter festival โ which itself carries 20 bracelets and $120 million in guarantees.
That is a coherent commercial architecture: online play feeds live Circuit stops, Circuit stops feed the flagship festivals, and the brand recognition that makes all of it work gets reinforced at every level.
What it means for the competitive landscape
The WSOP is not operating in a vacuum. The World Poker Tour has been expanding aggressively through WPT Prime and its dual-championship festivals, with WPT Australia currently running a three-week program at The Star Sydney. Triton owns the top of the high-roller market. The EPT remains the strongest brand in European poker, with Cyprus and Prague still to come in 2026.
What distinguishes the WSOP Circuit's expansion is the price point. WPT Prime championships sit around AUD 1,500. EPT Main Events run โฌ5,000. Circuit ring events frequently start at $400 to $600 and top out with Main Events in the $1,700 range.
That makes the Circuit the most accessible international tournament brand of the major tours โ and accessibility at scale is how you build a player base rather than harvest one.

The risks
Expansion at this pace carries real hazards, and they are worth naming.
Dilution. A gold ring earned in a 200-entry event in a small market is not equivalent to one earned in a 2,844-entry Main Event, but they look the same on a rรฉsumรฉ and in the record books. The more rings awarded annually, the less each one signifies. The WSOP has faced exactly this criticism about bracelets for over a decade.
Calendar collision. Running six cities simultaneously means the WSOP is competing against itself for players, staff and media attention. With WPT, EPT and Triton also expanding, the autumn calendar is now genuinely congested.
Partner quality control. Licensing the brand to third-party venues means the player experience depends on operators the WSOP does not directly control. Structures, floor decisions, payout handling and registration processes all vary. One badly run series does reputational damage to the brand everywhere.
Guarantee risk. Aggressive guarantees in untested markets can produce overlays. Montreal beat its guarantee by 70%, which is a spectacular result. A new market that misses by 40% is a different story, and the economics of a licensed series make those losses painful for the local partner.
What this means for players
More accessible international poker than ever. If you have wanted to combine travel with tournament poker, the options at sub-$2,000 buy-ins have never been broader. Rozvadov in late October, Punta Cana in January, and a long list of European and North American stops in between.
Satellite value is at a high point. Every new stop needs qualifiers, and operators compete to supply them. That competition is where the value sits. Our bonus and rakeback pages track where the current offers are strongest.
Check the structure before you travel. Circuit series vary considerably between venues. Starting stacks, level lengths and re-entry rules differ, and a series advertised with the same branding can play very differently from one you enjoyed elsewhere. Read the structure sheet.
Ring value is diverging. If a Circuit ring is a personal goal, the achievement in a large-field Main Event and a small-field side event are not comparable, whatever the record book says. Set the target you actually want.
The Circuit's next major stop is WSOP Super Circuit KINGS in Rozvadov, October 28 โ November 11.
