The World Poker Tour has confirmed a second annual Las Vegas championship stop. The WPT Venetian Las Vegas Fall Festival will run October 28 through November 15, headlined by the $5,000 buy-in WPT Venetian Las Vegas Fall Championship from November 5–10 with a $2 million guaranteed prize pool. The festival as a whole carries nearly $4 million in guarantees across its schedule.
Announced on August 13, the addition gives the WPT two Venetian championship events per year and further consolidates Las Vegas as the tour's home market.
The Schedule
The Fall Festival spans nearly three weeks, which is a substantial commitment of poker room capacity even at a venue the size of The Venetian. Beyond the $5,000 Championship, the schedule includes:
- Multiple bounty events
- A seniors event
- An extensive satellite program feeding the Championship
- A range of side events across buy-in levels
The Championship final table will be livestreamed from the new state-of-the-art streaming room inside The Venetian Poker Room — a facility investment that signals how seriously the property is treating its poker programming.
Two Venetian Championships a Year
The Fall Festival sits alongside the WPT Venetian Las Vegas Spring Championship Festival, which ran in February with over 30 events and more than $4 million in total guarantees, anchored by a $5,000 Spring Championship carrying its own $2 million guarantee.
Running two flagship championships at the same property in a single calendar year is a notable escalation. It reflects a few things about the current live poker market.
Las Vegas capacity has become the constraint, not demand. The summer WSOP has grown to a scale that saturates the city for two and a half months. Tour operators looking for Las Vegas dates increasingly have to work around it, which pushes major festivals into the spring and autumn shoulder seasons. Late October through mid-November is prime territory — post-WSOP, pre-holiday, and comfortably distant from the December WPT World Championship at Wynn.
The Venetian has invested in being the year-round venue. With the WSOP occupying Paris and Horseshoe for the summer, The Venetian has positioned itself as the destination for the rest of the calendar. The new streaming room is part of that positioning; so is hosting two WPT championships.
$5,000 is the sweet spot. High enough to generate a meaningful prize pool and attract serious players, low enough that a large recreational and semi-professional field can access it directly or through satellites. The $2 million guarantee implies a target field of roughly 440 entries at $5,000 — achievable but not trivial, and comfortably below what a Las Vegas championship in November should draw.
Where This Fits in the WPT's 2026
The WPT has had an expansive year. Season 24 has included stops across Cambodia, Cyprus, Australia and the US, and the tour has confirmed Season 25 will open in Phnom Penh with the WPT Cambodia Championship. WPT Cyprus ran two Season 24 stops, including a $3,500 event with a $2 million guarantee in August and a WPT Prime Cyprus $1,100 event with $1 million guaranteed in October.
The tour's international expansion has been the strategic story of recent seasons, driven substantially by its Asian growth and by WPT Global's rise as an online platform. But the Las Vegas anchor remains commercially central. The December WPT World Championship at Wynn is the tour's flagship, and the Venetian festivals feed players and momentum toward it.
The Fall Championship also lands at a useful point in the qualification calendar. Players building toward the World Championship in December — including leaderboard qualifiers like SHRPO winner Raminder Singh, who earned a $10,400 Wynn seat this month — have a November proving ground.

The Live Poker Market in 2026
The Fall Festival announcement fits a broader pattern of strength in live tournament poker. The 2026 WSOP drew a record 251,899 entries across its 100 bracelet events. The SHRPO awarded more than $12 million across 63 events. Regional festivals across the US, Europe and Asia have posted healthy numbers.
What is notable about the growth is where it sits. Volume has expanded most dramatically at accessible buy-in levels — the $400 to $1,500 range where recreational players and semi-professionals compete. Championship-tier events at $5,000 and above have held steady rather than boomed, and the super high roller circuit has actually contracted somewhat as high-net-worth recreational money has thinned.
That distribution has implications for how a $5,000 championship performs. A $2 million guarantee at that buy-in in Las Vegas in November should be met, but the field will contain a high proportion of serious players. This is not a soft spot.
Players considering it should think carefully about field composition rather than prize pool size. The relationship between the two is often inverse: the events with the largest guarantees attract the strongest fields. What This Means for Players
Satellite in. With an extensive satellite program feeding the Championship, the sensible route into a $5,000 event for most players is through qualification rather than a direct buy-in. The side events are where the value is. The Fall Festival's nearly $4 million in guarantees is spread across a full schedule, not concentrated in the Championship. The bounty events and mid-stakes tournaments will draw softer fields than the flagship while still offering meaningful prize pools.
Build the reps online first. Three weeks of live tournament poker is a significant time and money commitment.
