WPT Global has added the WPT Asia Super High Roller Championship to its weekly schedule, a recurring high-stakes event with a ¥1,000,000 guarantee — roughly $150,000 — and a guaranteed first prize of ¥200,000 (approximately $30,000).
The event runs every Sunday at 12:05 UTC and carries a structure aimed squarely at serious tournament players: 200 big blind starting stacks and 15-minute blind levels.
The buy-in is ¥5,300, or approximately $790.
The Guarantee Went Up Immediately
The most telling detail is that WPT Global raised the guarantee from ¥800,000 to ¥1,000,000 after the first week, citing demonstrated player interest.
Operators do not increase guarantees casually. A guarantee is a liability — if the field falls short, the room pays the difference. Raising it 25% after a single running means the first event comfortably beat expectations, and it suggests WPT Global sees room to grow the field further rather than protecting itself against overlay.

Western online poker markets are, at best, flat. Europe is fragmented across national licensing regimes that segregate liquidity.
