Virginia has its first WSOP Circuit Main Event champion. Ashburn resident Valentin Lita captured the inaugural Caesars Virginia WSOPC $1,700 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event in Danville, banking $181,853 and his first gold ring after outlasting 665 entries.
The result closes out a debut Circuit series that exceeded expectations on nearly every measure — and it arrives at a moment when Virginia's live poker scene is expanding faster than almost any other state in the country.
The tournament
The Main Event drew 665 entries and built a $1,007,475 prize pool, comfortably more than doubling the advertised $500,000 guarantee. For a first-year stop at a property with no Circuit history, that is a strong number and a clear signal that Caesars Virginia will keep this date on the calendar.
Lita entered the final day in the middle of the pack. Marshall White held the chip lead heading into the last session and looked the more likely champion for much of the day. Lita climbed steadily rather than spectacularly, accumulating through the middle stages before seizing control late and closing out White heads-up.
White took $121,214 as runner-up. Donald Pritt completed the podium for $83,103.

Kyle Lin's fifth-place finish gave him a strong series double — he had already won WSOPC Event #9, a $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em event, for $38,166.
A long road to a first ring
Lita's story is the kind the Circuit exists to produce. Originally from Romania, he moved to the United States 23 years ago and settled in Ashburn, in Northern Virginia. He has played poker for close to two decades. This was the largest tournament score of his career.
That is worth sitting with. Two decades of playing, and the biggest result arrives at a first-time Circuit stop three hours from his home — a stop that simply did not exist two years ago. The geography of American live poker has changed enough that a career-best score is now available to players who never had to book a flight.

The inaugural Caesars Virginia Circuit ran 18 official ring events across roughly two weeks in Danville. The full winners list:

The spread is instructive. Fourteen of the 18 events carried buy-ins of $600 or less, and the $600 Mini Main Event paid out $84,897 to Andrew Cunningham — nearly half the Main Event's top prize for roughly a third of the buy-in. The Circuit's business model has always been about accessible buy-ins producing life-changing-adjacent scores, and Danville delivered exactly that.
Every ring comes with a trip to the Bahamas
All 18 champions collected more than hardware. Every 2026 WSOP Circuit ring winner receives a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package, which includes a seat in the $2,750 WSOP Circuit Championship No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty plus complimentary accommodation at Baha Mar in Nassau.
That promotion has already produced one genuinely remarkable outcome. At WSOP Paradise 2025, Mark Darner converted his Circuit qualification into the Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty title, collecting $350,000 and his second WSOP gold bracelet.
The pathway is real, and it is crowded. More than 1,000 Circuit ring winners from 2026 are expected in the Bahamas for the event, which carries a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and opens the festival. WSOP Paradise 2026 runs December 2 to 17 at Baha Mar with 20 bracelet events and $120 million in total guarantees.
For Lita, a $1,700 investment in Danville has converted into a Circuit ring, $181,853 and a funded December trip to a $5 million tournament. That is a considerably better return than the prize money alone suggests.
Virginia's poker moment
The Caesars Virginia series landing so successfully is part of a broader Virginia story. The Commonwealth has been building out casino capacity rapidly, and live poker has been one of the beneficiaries. Danville now has a WSOP Circuit stop with a million-dollar Main Event prize pool in its first year.
What Virginia does not have is regulated online poker. Legislation to authorise iGaming — including online poker — has moved through the General Assembly in amended form requiring passage in both the 2026 and 2027 sessions before taking effect. The contrast is stark: a state can now host a Circuit series drawing 665 entries to a $1,700 event while its residents have no regulated way to play a $50 online tournament from home.
What this means for players
If you play the Circuit: the $5,000 Paradise package attached to every ring has fundamentally changed the value proposition of a $400 ring event. Winning a cheap Circuit tournament now carries an attached prize worth more than most of those events pay for first place. Factor that into which series you travel to.
If you are in the mid-Atlantic: Danville has established itself in one attempt. Expect the guarantee to rise next year and the field to grow accordingly. First-year stops are typically the softest a venue ever runs.
