Stake Poker Signs Farid Jattin

By jason-murphyยทOctober 29, 2026ยท6 min read

Stake Poker has its first dedicated face. The platform signed Colombian poker pro Farid Jattin as its first poker ambassador, according to Pokerfuse and Poker Industry PRO reports published on October 27, 2026. Jattin will represent Stake across its US sweepstakes operation and its international real-money site. The announcement came from Jean-Christophe Antoine, who leads Stake's poker vertical, who wrote on LinkedIn: "Step by step Stake Poker is getting thereโ€ฆ"

Who Is Farid Jattin?

Jattin is a Colombian player born in Barranquilla and now based in Miami, according to SoMuchPoker. The Hendon Mob lists his live tournament earnings at more than $10 million, and SoMuchPoker calls him the top name on Colombia's all-time money list.

His career highlights, per the sources:

  • Biggest cash: seventh place in the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas in 2019, reported at $746,000
  • 2020: won the $25,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions and also an Australian Poker Open PLO event
  • WSOP: runner-up in a 2024 $5,000 PLO event for $404,430 and in a 2022 $5,000 NLH event for $334,747; he cashed the 2025 Main Event (168th) for $60,000
  • PokerGO Cup: third in a 2025 Event #7 for $161,250
  • Games: no-limit hold'em and pot-limit Omaha
  • Other work: he runs a coaching business

SoMuchPoker notes that he has not yet won a WSOP bracelet. For a brand looking to build credibility with serious players, a high-stakes tournament specialist with two runner-up finishes at the WSOP is a sensible pick.

What Stake Poker Is

Stake launched poker in mid-2024 on Stake.US and its international real-money site, using a browser-based client built on in-house software. Pokerfuse lists the formats and features as:

  • All-In or Fold
  • A fast-fold game called "Next!"
  • Bomb pots
  • Mystery bounty tournaments
  • Run It Twice
  • Straddles
  • Rabbit hunting

The flagship tournament series, Stake Showdown, has grown fast. The guarantee reached $200,000 after sitting at $125,000 a few weeks earlier. Antoine previously worked with GGPoker in its early years, which gives the project some pedigree in building a poker product on a casino-first platform. Our earlier coverage of the $200K Stake Showdown has more on the series.

Why an Ambassador Now?

Stake already uses celebrity ambassadors, such as UFC champion Alex Pereira, who has also promoted its poker product. But Jattin is the first player to be dedicated to poker, and the timing is telling.

First, Stake is expanding its poker footprint. It launched poker in Mexico after securing a license in May, went live in Alberta earlier in October without poker, and is reportedly close to launching in Ontario. In New Zealand, Stake is one of 11 entities eligible to apply for one of 15 online casino licenses and is the only applicant currently offering peer-to-peer poker. Our report on New Zealand's licensing process covers the December 1 deadline.

Second, the ambassador gives Stake a credible voice in a community that is skeptical of casino-owned poker rooms. Poker players often distrust platforms that treat poker as an afterthought, and a respected pro can help communicate that the product is a serious effort.

Third, Jattin's Latin American profile matters. Colombia is a market where Stake holds a licence but does not offer online poker, so the signing may hint at future ambitions, though that is speculation and no such plan has been announced.

Where Stake's Traffic Stands

Pokerfuse cites SharkScope data via Poker Industry PRO's database to show how Stake's rooms compare with sweepstakes rivals:

Site Daily MTT entries Cash seats
Stake international about 8,800 roughly 250
Stake.US more than 6,000 around 210
Global Poker about 12,000 not listed
Clubs Poker about 7,200 not listed

ClubWPT Gold is not included in the data. These are modest numbers compared with the major regulated and offshore networks, but they place Stake in the same tier as established sweepstakes rooms. Cash game seats in particular are thin: 250 occupied seats internationally and 210 on Stake.US means that finding games at your preferred stakes may be difficult at off-peak hours. Compare this with our cash games page for what to expect from larger networks.

The Sweepstakes Poker Context

Stake.US operates under the sweepstakes model, which is under legal pressure across the US. Pokerfuse reports that it is available in more than 30 states and will exit Oklahoma on October 30. We cover the exit in our Stake.us Oklahoma article. Players should be aware that sweepstakes sites can be restricted by state law with little notice, and balances can be affected by changes in redemption windows.

What This Means for Players

For regular players, the ambassador signing changes little on the felt. What it signals is a longer-term commitment from Stake to its poker product, and possibly more content, streams and promotions. Here is what to watch:

  1. Promotions and content. Ambassadors typically appear in streams, social posts and events. Look for freerolls or satellites tied to his name, but only trust offers announced on the official site.
  2. Liquidity growth. If the signing drives sign-ups, game availability should improve. Until then, expect thin cash games.
  3. Format innovation. Stake's feature list is aimed at recreational-friendly variants like All-In or Fold. Players who specialise in standard cash games may find fewer opportunities.
  4. Regulatory risk. In sweepstakes markets, laws are changing quickly. Keep balances modest, redeem winnings promptly and stay informed.

Ambassador Deals in Poker: A Brief Look

Operators have long relied on ambassadors to establish credibility, from the early days of online poker through to modern sponsored teams. The pattern is consistent: a new or growing room signs a recognisable pro, the pro plays and streams on the platform, and the room hopes that the pro's reputation transfers. The effect is real but limited; players ultimately stay for game quality, rake structure, software stability and payout reliability. Our poker networks page explains how those factors compare across the industry.

Final Thoughts

Signing Farid Jattin is a smart if incremental move. He brings a strong live record, a Latin American profile and a reputation as a serious tournament player. Stake gets a credible face for a product that is still building traffic. For players, the real story will be whether the platform follows up with sustained investment in games, security and customer service. Time will tell, but the signing suggests Stake intends to be a long-term participant in online poker rather than a casino add-on.
