The RunGood Poker Series has left the American heartland for the Caribbean. RGPS has partnered with The Caribbean Poker Series to bring three signature ring events to the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino from September 17 to 23, 2026, its first stop outside North America.
The RGPS events are embedded inside a larger festival. The full Caribbean Poker Series runs September 17 to 27 with $750,000 guaranteed across the schedule, culminating in a $1,700 TCPS Main Event carrying a $400,000 guarantee.
The three RGPS ring events
RunGood's contribution carries $175,000 in combined guarantees across three tournaments:
Welcome to Aruba NLH Ring Event — opens the festival on September 17 as a single-day event with a $25,000 guarantee. A one-day structure at the front of a ten-day festival is a sensible piece of scheduling; it gives arriving players something to enter immediately rather than waiting for the multi-flight events to begin.
RunGood in Aruba Ring Event — the centrepiece, with a $100,000 guarantee and four starting flights from September 17 to 19. Survivors return for Day 2 on September 20.
TCPS Island Ring Event NLH presented by RunGood — a $400 buy-in with a $50,000 guarantee and three starting flights before Day 2 on September 23.
Around them, the wider TCPS schedule includes PLO, Seniors, Tag Team, Ladies and Turbo events, giving the festival the format variety that destination series need to hold players for ten days rather than three.
Why RunGood picked an established room
RGPS has built its brand on regional American stops — Tulsa, Joplin, New Orleans, Council Bluffs, the Midwest and South poker rooms that the larger tours mostly bypass. Buy-ins are accessible, the ring is the prize, and the tour has cultivated a loyal following among players who cannot justify a $3,500 Main Event.
Jumping to the Caribbean is a different proposition entirely, and RunGood has hedged the risk sensibly by partnering with an existing operation rather than launching cold. The Caribbean Poker Series has run at the Hilton Aruba for years and brings its own established player base, venue relationships and local infrastructure.
The structure of the partnership reflects that. RunGood is supplying three ring events and its brand; TCPS is supplying the festival, the Main Event and the operational backbone. RGPS gets a Caribbean stop without building one from scratch; TCPS gets WSOP-adjacent ring credibility and access to RunGood's mailing list.
The economics of a destination stop
A $750,000 festival guarantee is modest by the standards of Las Vegas or the Bahamas, and it should be. Destination festivals in smaller markets succeed by matching guarantees to realistic field sizes rather than chasing headlines.
The $400 Island Ring Event is the interesting one. Three starting flights at $400 with a $50,000 guarantee implies the organisers expect roughly 150 to 180 entries across the flights — an achievable number for a destination event that recreational players can enter on a whim during a beach holiday.
The $1,700 TCPS Main Event with $400,000 guaranteed is the ambitious end. That implies something in the region of 270 entries, which for a Caribbean festival in late September — hurricane season, notably, though Aruba sits outside the main hurricane belt — is a real target rather than a formality.
For players, guarantees that are ambitious relative to expected turnout are exactly what you want. Overlay is created when operators price optimistically, and first-year partnerships are the most likely to misjudge.
Where this fits in the wider live calendar
Late September is a crowded window. The Big, Big Series at Borgata is running $6 million across 11 events in Atlantic City, with a $3 million guaranteed Main Event that began September 19. The WSOP Circuit is simultaneously at Texas Card House in Austin and Horseshoe Council Bluffs in Iowa. 888poker's XL Autumn Series and CoinPoker's GOPC are absorbing online volume.
A Caribbean festival competing in that window is betting that its audience is a different one — players choosing a poker destination as a vacation rather than professionals optimising an EV-per-week calculation. That is probably correct, and it is also why the games are likely to be considerably softer than an equivalent buy-in in Atlantic City.
The Moneymaker Poker Tour has also run in Aruba, and the island's position as a poker destination has been building steadily. It has direct flights from several US East Coast hubs, sits outside the hurricane belt, and has a casino culture that predates the poker boom.
What this means for players
If you are considering the trip: the $400 Island Ring Event is the accessible entry point and the three-flight structure gives genuine flexibility around whatever else you want to do with the week. Three shots at a ring for $1,200 total is not an unreasonable poker budget for a holiday.
On field quality: destination festivals in resort locations consistently produce softer fields than equivalent buy-ins at grinder-heavy venues. A $1,700 Main Event in Aruba is not the same tournament as a $1,700 Main Event at a Circuit stop in Oklahoma, even with identical buy-ins. Adjust your expectations upward, not downward.
On the ring itself: RGPS rings are the tour's own hardware, distinct from WSOP Circuit gold rings, and do not carry the $5,000 WSOP Paradise package that 2026 WSOP Circuit rings do. Worth knowing before you build a travel plan around package value.
