The win also earned a $30,000 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event package, adding a substantial secondary prize to an already significant score.
It is the opening result of a six-week series running from 16 August to 29 September that will award 33 bracelets and more than $66 million in guaranteed prize pools — and the nationality of the first winner is not a coincidence.
Brazil's Position in Modern Poker
Brazil has become one of the most significant forces in tournament poker over the past decade, and the trajectory has been steep enough that it now shapes the composition of major online fields.
Several factors converged. Poker was formally recognised as a mind sport in Brazil, which shifted its cultural and legal positioning away from gambling. A large, young, internet-connected population provided the raw numbers. And a domestic training and staking ecosystem developed that is genuinely competitive with anything in Europe or North America — Brazilian coaching sites, study groups and backing arrangements have produced a pipeline of technically strong players in volume.
The result is that Brazilian players now appear at final tables of major online events in numbers far out of proportion to what the country's poker economy would have suggested fifteen years ago. Caixeta's win is a data point in a long-running trend rather than a surprise.
The Kickoff Event's Role
The $700 Kickoff has been part of the WSOP Online furniture for seven years, and its function within the series is deliberate. A mid-three-figure buy-in at the start of a six-week schedule sets the tone: accessible enough that a large field turns out, substantial enough that the prize pool justifies the bracelet attached to it.
That accessibility is the defining feature of the online bracelet series generally. A $700 buy-in producing a $207,167 first prize represents a return that live bracelet events at comparable buy-ins rarely match, because online fields are simply larger. The Kickoff's structure — one day, a large field, a bracelet on the line — compresses into a single session what a live event would spread across three days.
What 33 Bracelets Means
The 2026 WSOP Online awards 33 gold bracelets across six weeks, with over $66 million guaranteed. The headline events include a $5,000 Main Event with a $25 million guarantee, a $500 Mini Main Event guaranteeing $5 million, a $1,500 Millionaire Maker with $5 million guaranteed and a champion netting at least $1 million, and a $10,000 GGMillion$ High Roller with at least $10 million on offer.
GGPoker is running more than 50 events per day across the period and has set aside $5 million for a trio of promotions running alongside the series.
Thirty-three bracelets is a substantial share of the WSOP's annual total, and the fact that they are awarded online continues a debate that has run since the first online bracelet in 2015. The traditionalist objection is that an online bracelet is not equivalent to one won in a live field, given the differences in format, field composition and the physical demands of a multi-day live event.
The counter-argument is straightforward: online fields are frequently larger, the competition at the top is at least as strong, and the WSOP has been awarding bracelets in vastly different formats — from $565 Colossus events to $250,000 super high rollers — for years. The bracelet has never been a single standardised achievement.
What is not disputable is the accessibility. A $700 online event puts a bracelet within reach of players who will never travel to Las Vegas, and that expansion of who can compete for WSOP hardware is the series' most defensible justification.
What This Means for Players
The series is not over — 32 bracelets remain. With events running through 29 September at buy-ins spanning the full range, there is substantially more opportunity ahead than behind. The Mini Main Event at $500 with a $5 million guarantee is the standout value proposition for players who cannot justify the $5,000 Main.
Satellites are the correct route into the larger events. A $5,000 buy-in should not come directly out of a recreational bankroll. It is an elegant piece of ecosystem design. The online series feeds the live festival, the live festival feeds the brand, and the brand drives sign-ups back to the online platform. What has changed more recently is the guarantee level. A $25 million Main Event guarantee online would have been implausible five years ago. That figure reflects both GGPoker's traffic position and a genuine expansion in how many players will commit $5,000 to an online tournament — a threshold that was once reserved almost entirely for live poker.
