The path is real, and someone will complete it, but "someone will" and "you will" are very different statements.

That does not make it worthless. Cheap satellites are entertainment with a lottery-shaped payoff, and treated as such they are perfectly reasonable. The failure mode is treating the ladder as a strategy โ€” repeatedly buying in on the theory that persistence converts a low-probability path into a likely one. It does not.
